  PI

Professor Guirong Wang has long been engaged in the study of pest insect olfactory coding mechanisms, and has some contribution in the field including the neural and molecular mechanisms through which external chemical signals are transformed into electrical signals in the insect. These achievements have contributed novel knowledge and technology to facilitate the development of sustainable pest management strategies. He has published more than 100 research papers including in Current Biology, PNAS and Biological Reviews. He has been granted 6 Chinese invention patents, and serves as an editorial board members for several international journals.

  Research Interests

Based on the country's major needs for green pest control, follow the concept of “derived from nature, used for nature, return to nature”, through the whole genome sequencing of major agricultural pests and bioinformatics analysis combined with functional omics research, to find efficient and safe Agricultural pest-specific molecular targets, through structural analysis, molecular docking and high-throughput screening based on functional research, develop new environmentally friendly green pesticides for pest growth and development regulation, behavior regulation and ecological regulation
